Smart DRIEMS Hackathon is DRIEMS University's official internal hackathon, organized by The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of the university in collaboration with DRIEMS Coders Guild (DCG) & DRIEMS Robotics Club (DRC), designed to shortlist top talent for Smart India Hackathon 2026. Instead of a single day, we provide an extended 2 Days with live mentor guidance, technical evaluations, and prototype demonstrations before high-profile judges.

226+ SIH Portal Statements OR Propose Your Own Innovation
Teams can choose from official SIH 2026 problem statements across 34 themes OR submit their own innovative project idea. All projects require a max 6-slide PPT and a working prototype demonstration.

Welcome address at Ranidevi Auditorium (SOM), SIH guidelines and evaluation briefing.
Team Setup & Final Briefing
Teams settle in CSE Block-I (Software) & ENTC Block-II (Hardware) smart classrooms.
Round 1 — Phase 1: Preliminary Evaluation
Continuous evaluation by faculty evaluators focusing on idea clarity and initial prototype.
Lunch & Networking Break
Lunch break and interaction with club members and alumni mentors.
Round 1 — Phase 2: Continued Evaluation
In-depth evaluation of implementation progress, technical feasibility, and prototype functionality.
Shortlisting & Announcement
Shortlisted finalist teams announced for Day 2. All teams receive verified Participation E-Certificates.
Venue Setup & Equipment Check
Finalist teams setup project demonstration booths and test prototype connections.
Guest & Judges Session
Introduction of external industry judges, keynote speech, and final evaluation briefing.
Final Judging — Phase 1
Independent judging panels evaluate teams (max 6 slides PPT + live working prototype demo, 8 min max).
Lunch Break
Lunch and team deliberation.
Final Judging — Phase 2 & Q&A
Continued prototype demonstrations, rigorous judge Q&A, and final scoring compilation.
Prize Distribution & Closing
Valedictory at Ranidevi Auditorium (SOM): winner trophies, certificates, judge felicitation & group photos.

All current students of DRIEMS University across School of Engineering and Technology (SOET), School of Professional Studies (SOPS), and School of Management (SOM) are eligible to participate.
Each team must have exactly 6 members, including the Team Leader. Having at least 1 female student member is mandatory in every team as per SIH guidelines.
No. Participation in DRIEMS Hackathon 2026 is completely free (Nil fee) for all DRIEMS students.
Yes! Cross-school, cross-department, and cross-year teams within DRIEMS University are fully encouraged. All 6 members must belong to DRIEMS University.
Yes! Teams may select a problem statement from the official SIH-2026 web portal (sih.gov.in) OR propose their own innovative problem statement, provided it demonstrates novelty, relevance, and practical applicability.
Presentations must be prepared within a maximum of 6 slides following the prescribed SIH 2026 PPT format. In the Final Round, each team gets a maximum of 8 minutes total for presentation and working prototype demonstration.
Yes! Every team must present a working prototype / functional model (software system or hardware demonstration) along with their PPT.
Based on the evaluation of ideas, presentations, and prototypes, the nominated SPOC will select a maximum of 50 student teams to represent DRIEMS University at the national-level Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2026.
Inauguration & Valedictory will be held at Ranidevi Auditorium (School of Management). Hardware Track is at Block 3 and Software Track is at Block 1.
Registration closes strictly on 5th September 2026 at 11:59 PM IST through this portal.
